Courtesy of The Postulant an assortment of Philosophical Action Figures with many and amazing powers. Be sure to check them all out in their plastic containers (In Mint Condition) to see the details of their special skills. "Bashin'" Bishop Berkeley's trademarked Eye Closing Power ("Close his eyes and his enemies disappear!") seems to be much employed in the Church of England these days.
But perhaps it only seems that way... In any case, for anyone interested in faith seeking an understanding of a way to bash your enemies, these are the action figures to go to.
My favorite is an easy choice: "Awful Augustine" with his "A-gustin Wind" AKA, especially since the minicomic, Concussions of Saint Augustine is included.
ReplyDeleteThese would go perfectly with my Early Church History trading cards!
ReplyDeletePersonally I'm still waiting for the Jael action figure, complete with hammer action.
ReplyDeleteI want all of them!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites is "Angry" Anselm, "Made for play than which none greater can be conceived!"
As I just wrote my old gang of Ph.D. classmates, to whom I forwarded the URL, there are a few theologians among those philosophers but we need a full collection of theologian action figures. And where are the women? In the theologians, I want a Rosemary Radford Ruether action figure. And the liberation line?! Super Sobrinoman and Gutsy Gustavo and Glorious Gebarawoman. Bring 'em on.
ReplyDeleteAt the very least, he could have made Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir dolls with Simone in that funny headgear, with cigarettes (fake ones of course) sitting at the Flore or the Deux Magots. I'm just sayin'.
