Forecast: Less Blog
A quick note to all that my blogging will be a bit restricted over the next month or so. The good news (from my and I hope others' perspective) is that this is because I have signed a book deal to put into published format some of my ruminations on sexuality and theology. This is quite exciting, especially since it results from the publisher approaching me rather than the converse, so I know there is a real interest in seeing this happen. But it does mean a bit of work in rearranging, restructuring, and all-around writing, that will keep me a bit occupied — amongst my other duties as a vicar and member of the standing committee. I promise to post a note from time to time, and also to keep you posted on the progress of the project; and I will do my share of continuing to browse what others contribute to the blogosphere.

Great news! I'm so glad that you'll be doing this, because then we can simply point to your book when somebody tells us (yet again!) that we "haven't done the work."
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and best wishes. Hope all goes swimmingly.
Good luck, and all the best!
ReplyDeleteThat's splendid. And if I can be of any use to you as a resource or reader or sounding board or guy-who-prays-for-you, you know where to find me.
ReplyDeleteexcellent, and congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and grace to you, and peace.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! hope it all goes well!
ReplyDeleteArgh!
ReplyDeleteI just finished almost three weeks of 6-hour days re-formatting and editing the MS for my book "The Complete Julian" (Paraclete) -- so I do not envy you at all.
But it is lovely that you were sought out rather than having to pitch your own work.
Congratulations, dear Brother!
Good news, indeed, Tobias! I look forward to the publication of your book.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you as you write and get the manuscript together, Tobias. We'll miss you, but we know it's for a good cause.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! This is wonderful news.
ReplyDeleteOh my- what great news! That is fantastic Tobias.
ReplyDeleteI just referred someone here to read some of your work on the topic too.
Can't wait, Tobias - I've copied many of your writings - won't use them without attribution, of course. We think along very similar paths! God bless and keep you, friend.
ReplyDeleteTobias, I will miss having as much of you to read for a season, but I am very happy that your "ruminations" on sexuality and theology will be taking book form. (Much tidier than website printouts!) May the Holy Spirit be with you!

Well, it's a fine howdy-do when a blogger turns his back on his blog-addicted readers. Where's the love? Where's the enabling? What are you doing reading this? Get to work, and good writing! :-)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to buying the book. That's my preferred way of reading. Call me old!
ReplyDeleteGood luck and best wishes.
ReplyDeleteTobias, I'm really happy to know you're on a book project and I know it will be awesome as you are an amazing intellect and have a great perspective to offer.. Ironically I came back from vacation to learn that Jake's place was folding also (not entirely I'm sure as he was saying he was considering a different kind of project) and now the lovely intelligent musings of you both are going away for a bit I guess, and my addiction that was just beginning to form should subside- maybe God is telling me something.. but I wish you every good wish.. I know it will be good because you are :-)
ReplyDeleteToby, good luck with the book, and we'll be looking for it when in comes out.
ReplyDeleteIt will be strange, though, and I hope not too frustrating, not to be able to talk back at it.
