A new verse

Build up your mount above the hills;
to nations joined with Godly wills
send forth your truth from Zion.

Recast our swords to plow the fields
that they may bear the fruit peace yields
and we depart from warring.

Jesus, Savior,
Lord, we wait your soon arrival;
Maranatha!
On you hangs our sole survival.

Tobias Haller BSG, after Isaiah 2:1-4

To the tune Wie schön leuchtet, suggested as an additional verse to the hymn, “How brightly shines the morning star.

  1. "Zion" and "warring": is it just me, or does anyone else hear a finely burred Scottish accent reciting this? ;-)###

    [As a prayer for Our Economy circa 12/5/08, it's spot-on, Tobias: "sole survival" :-/]

  2. Very fine, Tobias.

    I say, "Into the hymnal!". An insert, perhaps?
