Dada Kildare

Man, Woman, Birth, Death, Bicycle.

Tobias Stanislas Haller, filling in for Dr. Zorba

  1. Dr. Zorba (Sam Jaffe) was with Ben Casey (Vince Edwards), iirc, rather than with Dr. Kildare (Richard Chamberlain), whose patron was Dr. Gillespie (Raymond Massie).

But perhaps I'm being over-literal again..;-)

  2. Of course, but then it wouldn't be Dada! ;-)

  3. Given that you are far more intellectually mature than I, Tobias, have you ever heard of the DC Comics supervillain team, "The Brotherhood of Dada?"

  4. Hi Mark. I was an avid reader of DC (and Marvel) back in the day, which for me was the late 50s through mid-60s. During the latter part of that, I actually got very interested in Dada and Surrealism -- some day I'll post some of my work from that period. One piece in particular caused a small controversy in my high school as the art teacher wanted it displayed in an exhibition of student work and the principal wanted it taken down. It stayed up.

Anyway, I'd never heard of the Brotherhood of Dada, but am glad to know this penetrated as far as the world of comix. Now when they come out the the Classics Illustrated version of Fleurs du Mal we'll know the end is near... ;-)
