Off the Press

I'm happy to report that Reasonable and Holy is off the press, and in keeping with Doubting Thomas Sunday I can attest I have actually touched and handled a copy courtesy of my angel and editor Susie Erdey.

My hope is that this volume can be a contribution to the "listening process" that the Lambeth Conference commended.

I've also set up a separate blog aptly named Reasonable and Holy, where I'm posting some additional resources (such as index material) and where I hope to focus some further discussion and comment.

Meanwhile, blessed Easter 2!

  1. Must buy now! This is great news Tobias and I can't wait to read your book. Which, with another class starting... The Trinity this time, won't be until July when I have time off from school.

    Congratulations and all good things!

  3. Have you worked out how to "sign" our copies yet?
Amazon tells me the delivery date for mine is 5th May.

  4. Dear Erika,
I do have some lovely promotional postcards -- one side looks like the cover of the book. A while back IT suggested my sending such a card to anyone who wanted a "signed copy" but wasn't in my physical proximity -- and I'd be glad to do that. All I'd need is a snail mail address, which can be sent to my jintoku email address.
    I'm happy to do so!
    Easter joy,
    Tobias

  5. Off the press and into my mailbox very soon, I hope. To think that I've broken bread twice with the famous, and perhaps soon to be rich, nearly sends me into a swoon.

Blessed Easter 2 to you, dear Tobias.

I'm shocked that you're impressed by fame and riches :-)
But I am also extremely envious that you have met Tobias twice!

    Tobias
I happily send you my postal address, but if all of us do that that's an awful lot of envelopes and postage!
Could you email it as a pdf or jpeg?

  7. Dear Mimi... riches??? Not too likely, I'm afraid. I'll let you know if it turns out otherwise, though!

Erika, I could certainly do the electronic "thing" but that seem so impersonal. What about an SASE -- send me a self addressed stamped envelope and I can then return one of these lovely signature cards...

I can send you an envelope, sure, but I can't buy American stamps here...

  11. Dear Jan, I was surprised to see how early Amazon had it listed -- even before the final edits were done. But it's definitely for real now!

Mary Clara, the fame may be fleeting -- we'll see how the wider world reacts. My only hope is that this might reach some in the "movable middle" and sway a few hearts.

Erika, I'm happy to cover the postage for a virtual friend. As long as I don't become so wildly popular outside of the US that the postage becomes a major line in my budget... ;-)

    thank you!
I suppose if you do become as popular in the wider world as you deserve, you will have to set up a PayPal facility through your blog!

Here's hoping you will become very very widely read indeed - for all our sake!

  13. Tobias,
How great to hear that this book is out. I will be getting it soon. I need it for the Lutherans before they do something stupid at Church Wide Assembly this summer. This is also hoping and praying that GC doesn't do something stupit this summer too.

  14. I've added it it my (ever expanding) Amazon wish list!

  15. Mine is due from amazon. Tobias, if I send you a SASE will you promise not to reveal my incognito?

This has the potential to be so important in my family right now.....
