I find that amusing since Lambeth Councils cannot issue official teaching - they can express the mind of the church at a given time - but not official teaching. And the irony continues... <BR/><BR/>Lambeth Conference 1998: Resolution 1.10 Human Sexuality <BR/>This Conference: <BR/>1 commends to the Church the subsection report on human sexuality; <BR/><BR/>2 in view of the teaching of Scripture, upholds faithfulness in marriage between a man and a woman in lifelong union, and believes that abstinence is right for those who are not called to marriage; <BR/><BR/><BR/>What I would like to know is how any bishop who is living with a second wife (Like the current Bishop of West Texas who attended both meetings) can show up at these meetings and affirm Resolution 1.10 when his own 'manner of life' does not support item #2.
